Marvel Honors Boseman After Black Panther Star’s Passing

Marvel Studios honored Chadwick Boseman after the actor’s sudden passing. The star of Black Panther (2018) was only 43 when he lost a four-year battle with stage IV colon cancer. He kept his illness private until the very end, sometimes going to great lengths to do so, his closest family revealed in a statement.

Marvel opted to honor this tragically untimely departure with a new cover designed by its Director of Visual Development, Mr. Ryan Meinerding. The illustration immortalizes Boseman with a handful of depiction of his most famous role. Besides that, the tribute includes a drawing of Boseman’s widely publicized Commencement speech that he gave at his alma mater, the Washington, D.C.-based Howard University back in 2018.

Besides Mr. Meinerding, Black Panther director, Ryan Coogler, also did an homage to the late actor in the form of a touching public letter celebrating the South Carolina-born artist’s life and achievements. After debuting in the role of the iconic Black Panther as part of the Captain America: Civil War cast back in 2016, Mr. Boseman went on to star in the titular MCU blockbuster two years later.

The movie amassed seven Academy Awards nominations and won three. He returned for Avengers: Infinity War released that same year. His final reprisal of the role was filmed for the Oscar-nominated Avengers: Endgame released in 2019.

The Wolverine Given Disney+ U.S. Release Date

The Walt Disney Studios today officially announced the date on which the 2013 blockbuster “The Wolverine” will be hitting its recently introduced on-demand video platform. The said movie will be making its way to Disney Plus on the 4th of September, which is only three days from now.

This long-awaited rerelease won’t be the only high-profile movie to make its way to Disney Plus this month. Namely, not long after The Wolverine’s Friday release, we will be getting treated to yet another season of Marvel Superhero Adventures, a popular animated series the company has been co-producing in collaboration with Atomic Cartoons since 2017.

This is going to be the fourth season of the show to make its way to Disney Plus. Its streaming debut is scheduled for the 18th of September, Marvel Studios confirmed in a statement. In related news, Disney pulled the plug on the free trial program that previously allowed anyone in the United States to enjoy a full month’s worth of its entertainment library.

That privilege will now set you back at least $7 a month, or $12.99 if you want to bundle this subscription alongside unlimited access to ESPN+ and Hulu, the company’s other two premium media properties.

NVIDIA To Buy Arm In $40 Billion Chip Tech Deal

Graphics card juggernaut NVIDIA intends to acquire international chip architecture design company Arm in a deal worth approximately $40 billion, the two companies announced in a joint statement issued earlier today. Arm was originally established as a British company but got acquired by SoftBank Group, a Japanese corporation several years ago.

This majority owner of Arm now appears to be willing to sell, signaling that flipping the chip design firm was its intent all along. It is currently unclear when exactly might this transaction actually go through.

Because the highly collaborative nature of 21st-century chipmaking, not to mention the complex ownership structures of the companies involved, mean this acquisition will need to get regulatory approval from pretty much every continent bar Antartica.

As smartphones are a huge business in every corner of the globe. NVIDIA said its intent here is to bolster its R&D talent in the AI chip race. While Arm gets to secure its long-term future by tying up with one of the largest technology companies that ever existed. Arm’s headquarters would remain in Cambridge, UK, following the purchase, the two companied confirmed.

In an ideal scenario, this acquisition would secure all necessary regulatory approvals in the second half of the next year, but a lot of regulatory hurdles remain between that outcome and where we currently are.

Logitech Adds Some Color To Popular Keys-To-Go Keyboard Line

Logitech is breathing in some fresh air into Keys-To-Go, its popular lineup of highly portable keyboards designed to work primarily with comparably mobile devices – smartphones and tablets, namely, with an emphasis on handsets and iPhones, in particular.

Anyway, the product, which had released in the United States earlier in the year, is now also available in Classic Blue, a self-explanatory hue if there ever was one, especially given the look of Logitech’s own corporate brand.

This new color will be available as a North American exclusive for the time being, though it is eventually planned to release in Europe, as well. Meanwhile, Canadians and Americans can pick it up as of today, as an alternative to the existing black, gray, and pink variants.

The introduction of this fourth alternative look for the mobile keyboard, fortunately, is not accompanied with any kind of a price increase, even as Keys-To-Go devices remain in a pretty short supply. Which means that you can still pick one up, whether online or in person, for $69.99.

Making this one of the more affordable solutions of its kind on the market, at least among devices specifically designed for smartphone and tablet users like these Bluetooth-ready gadgets are.

Gaming Site TheInvader.com Celebrates 18th Anniversary

https://theinvader.com/ is entering its 19th year of existence as of today. Which is nothing short of amazing, to be honest. Especially given how this group of veteran video games enthusiasts continues chugging along and covering the gaming industry on an everyday basis in a pleasantly consistent fashion.

And most will agree how few practices build a loyal following as efficiently as such a consistent track record of reporting does; at least as far as traditional news coverage on the Internet is concerned. Interestingly enough, The Invader’s staff does not see its 18 years’ worth of reporting as that big of a deal, though it acknowledges how it never would have expected the site to still be live and regularly updated as of 2020.

And just for some tiny bit of extra context, we are talking about an outlet that started reporting on the video games industry back when titles such as GTA: Vice City, Age of Mythology, and 007: Nightfire were battling for every minute of our spare time. As well as one in which many cult classics and full-fledged masterpieces in the vein of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the original 3D remake of Jordan Mechner’s Prince of Persia have not even been completed just yet. Let alone produced, boxed, released, and celebrated en masse.

The Invader has been bringing us news coverage before we have even learned about the first Call of Duty. Therefore, it also predates the most legendary MMORPG of them all, seeing how it started operating nearly two full years prior to Club Penguin’s worldwide release (rest in peace, sweet prince).

And it is somehow still going strong. In this sense, The Invader is still as much of a passion project as it always was. Since it would appear that not even almost two decades of tiring media work did anything but deepened its staff’s infatuation with interactive entertainment. Making us excited to see what’s next for them.

Nikon Adds Official Webcam Support To Many Mirrorless, DSLR Cameras

Nikon is starting to roll out a new firmware update to over a dozen of its modern DSLR and mirrorless cameras that will see all of those enhanced with the addition of official support for webcam functionality.

The company has been ignoring countless pleas for this feature to be added for years, but has quickly reversed course after Canon broke precedent on its own, perhaps in an effort to revitalize some of its commercial momentum killed during this overall tragedy of a year. So, as of today, both of the world’s most popular dedicated camera brands are allowing you to indulge into some sacrilege by temporarily repurposing your expensive photography gear into the most overkill Zoom setup money will ever be able to buy.

Well, your money, at least, based on the observation you’re using your DSLR as a webcam instead of just… you know, buying a webcam.

The average is probably cheaper than your current protective filter or perhaps even the last five lens caps you’ve bought. Plus, a horrible resolution paired with an impossibly small sensor are pretty much a feature for such a product, not a flaw.

As nobody wants their coworkers to be looking at a 4K close-up of their mug at 8:30 in the morning. Or 3:20 in the afternoon. Or ever.

Sony Introduces Spatial Reality Display For Next-Gen Design Apps

Sony Electronics has a new technology promising to usher in a new era of design apps. It’s called the Spatial Reality Display and is based on Sony’s previously introduced Eye-Sensing Light Field Display that the company already showcased at this year’s CES in Las Vegas, Nevada, back in early January.

The whole point of the tech is to make prototyping of complex 3D models and visual effects, especially those meant to move, i.e. animations, much easier than what has been the case so far. A lot of it is powered by the so-called high-speed vision sensor which tracks eye position in a three-dimensional space in order to render the most accurate, believable image possible, while requiring as little of the creator’s effort as possible, at that.

This is all without any use of artificial reality or virtual reality headsets, mind you, which is what makes this display a rather unique offering across any industry. Its rendering algorithms are baked in on a hardware level, with the product itself offering 15.6 inches of LCD real estate diagonally.

The SR Display can already be ordered from Sony Electronics and its official distributors in the U.S. It’s priced at $4,999.99, whereas Canadians will be asked to part with $6,649.99 CAD in exchange for one of these hi-tech designer tools.

Doctors Begin Using HTC Vive VR Tech For Stroke Recovery

Medical professionals appear to have began warming up to virtual reality headsets. Or, better said, the idea of such tech solutions. But that’s more than enough reason to celebrate if you are a VR company. Especially if you used to have been much more but ended up stripped for parts after a series of horrible management decisions. Leaving you happy at any sign of a possibility that things might finally be looking up.

Cue today’s story from Seattle, where HTC Vive and Penumbra announced the REAL Immersive System, a customizable platform design to facilitate stroke recovery amid a wide patient demographic. Given the importance of rehabilitation in dealing with neurological trauma, modern medicine is progressively placing a gradually greater emphasis on any such activitiy with potential neuroplasticity benefits.

Those would be any factors helping the brain make sense of trauma by recompartmentalizing experiences in a way that helps a person better cope with trauma, whether physical, mental, or both, as is often the case with strokes. In effect, various VIVE VR headsets and other tech from HTC is now being put in use in stroke recovery through the said REAL Immersive System that HTC is hoping will expand beyond the U.S. in the future.

ASUS Unveils ExpertBook P2451, And This Slim Thingy Means Business

Taiwanese computer company ASUS today added another model to its growing family of ExpertBook Windows laptops. The said product is called the ExpertBook P2451 and features a remarkably minuscule form factor given the caliber of its internals.

Namely, you are looking at a dual-storage notebook powered by the newest Intel Core i7 vPr, the very same processor found in e.g. $2,000+ Dell Latitudes, with the main difference between this processor and more traditional i7 models being the fact that this particular CPU has been specifically designed for surpassing expectations in extremely low-powered setups, i.e. scenarios in which it has absolutely no business being such a high-level workhorse that it is.

A 1TB SSD, 16GB of RAM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, two Type-A USB 3.2 ports and another such USB-C connector with fast charging and rapid data transfer support, as well as the ability to relay video signal are all on board here. As is an RJ45 LAN jack, a 48Wh battery promising up to 13 hours of standalone operation on a single charge, a multi-microphone array for impeccable call quality, SonicMaster-certified audio, Kensington lock support, and a 14-inch FHD IPS display capable of shining at up to 250 nits.

Crazy, given the form factor, right? Now, let us present you with the kicker – the ASIS ExpertBook P2451 starts at $999 and will be available for orders in the U.S. by the end of the month.

Kaira Pro Is Razer’s Best-Yet Xbox Headset

The Razer Kaira Pro is the name of the latest headset from the famous gaming accessory manufacturer; one that marks a number of firsts for the said company. Namely, this is touted as the first headset designed specifically for cloud gaming applications. So, streaming services in the vein of Microsoft’s xCloud and Google Stadia, for example.

Though Razer claims the Kaira Pro has been optimized specifically for the former, so you can expect lower latency and higher audio quality compared to other solutions on the market. What’s more, the Razer Kaira Pro is touted as the company’s best Xbox gaming headset to date due to the fact it has also been optimized to work with the upcoming Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles as seamlessly as possible.

Meaning it should be a textbook example of a plug-and-play solution, except not even the plugging part will necessarily be true seeing how we are looking at a wireless device that only has to be physically connected to a charger, not the actual system it pulls the audio from. The Kaira Pro uses Bluetooth 5.0 and is available for pre-orders in the United States as of today.

It is priced at $149.99 and can currently only be pre-booked from Razer itself. Stateside distributors will begin stocking the device at some point before the end of the year, however.

HTC Brings Remote Collab App VIVE Sync Beta To The U.S.

HTC is continuing to chug along the path toward virtual reality glory which it decided to traverse many years ago. And today, even as the overall global situation isn’t exactly ideal, the company actually seems to be in a decent position to start capitalizing on its early investments into VR technologies, both hardware and software alike.

Today, we are dealing with an update on the latter, as the American arm of the Taiwanese firm announced the U.S. launch of an open beta program for VIVE Sync, another VR app designed for the company’s head-mounted gadgets that seeks to enable remote collaborations virtually indistinghuishable from the real thing, if that makes sense.

Between remote surgery and Internet-enabled whiteboards, a surprisingly large number of today’s professions can actually be highly adaptable to this new work-from-home situation and today’s stateside debut of the VIVE Sync beta will hopefully go a long way toward proving that state of affairs, as per an official announcement from HTC.

Disclaimer: do not attempt to perform remote surgeries using this particular tool, it’s more like Facebook Spaces but with slightly less creepy characters instead of a highly specialized precision toolkit. The latter are on their way, as well, but largely depend on 5G rollouts in addition to VR hardware.

HMD’s Feature Phone Experiment Continues With Nokia 6300, 8000 4G

Nokia si continuing its feature phone experiment with not one, but two such devices at once. The company behind the current Nokia Mobile brand today announced the Nokia 6300 4G and the Nokia 8000 4G, a device tandem aimed at consumers looking for a backup phone in case of an emergency, or those who aren’t thrilled with the privacy sacrifices using contemporary Android and iOS smartphones requires.

To that effect, the new pair of Nokia feature phones will be hoping to provide users with a glimpse of an alternate reality in which we never truly moved beyond J2ME devices, functionality wise.

While some might find that limiting, others could find the straightforward list of the duo’s capabilities to be refreshingly liberating.

Especially in the sub-$100 price segment that’s nearly unheard of in this day and age. Speaking of which, the Nokia 6300 4G and the Nokia 8000 4G will be sold at approximately $59 and $99, respectively. HMD Global intends to release these feature phones internationally over the course of the next several weeks.

The new handsets hence appear to be functional successors to the Nokia 3310 (2017) that the company released to excellent market response over three years ago.

PlayStation 5 Backwards Compatibility Explained Just Ahead Of Release

Sony certainly took its time with explaining the backwards compatibility of the PlayStation 5 but it finally came around to doing just that, with barely a month left ahead of the console’s official release in the United States.

The company clarified the PS5 feature that allows it to play PS4 games in a rather low-key manner, choosing to do so via a new support page instead of a more widely publicized announcement. In any case, we now know that the PS5 will be able to play nearly every PS4 game ever released, which makes for a last-gen library spanning more than 4,000 titles which have been released for the current-gen systems since 2013.

And much like the PS4 Pro was capable of boosting certain games up to 4K, the PS5 will be able to boost even more of them to 4k, 60fps gameplay. The exact list of those will depend on a given game’s developers, i.e. their willingness to optimize their previous releases for the new system.

Of course, all of Sony’s own first-party games for the PS4 are among those that will benefit from the PS5 jump the most. As for the PS4 games *not* compatible with the PS5 whatsoever, the list includes only 10 releases, all of which are rather niche offerings, with the exception of Hitman Go: Definitive Edition, a diorama-styled game that is a rather curious item to be included in such a group anyway.

The PSVR games? Although the system will not support the last-gen camera, it’s still going to support the  games, so a “hey ho” for that.

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro Arriving in September

Upcoming Google’s Android-based smartphones will come with Android 12 pre-installed, powered by the new Tensor SoC chip. This SoC is turning many heads as it was in development by Google since 2016, making its debut in the new Pixel 6 smartphones. Google believes that this SoC will make it possible for users of Pixel 6 smartphones to experience ultimate AI technology and advanced machine learning through the usage of their phones. All of this would indicate that some more advanced functions within Android 12 are to get introduced to the market, along with better personalization and security measures. What about the phones themselves?

Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro Technical Specifications

Both Pixels feature a refreshed design, which, at least judging by the renders popping up, will remain subtle but premium. Hardware specification-wise, the Pixel 6 is expected to have a 6,4 inches AMOLED display, 8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of onboard storage, 50MP and 12MP cameras on the back, and a single 8MP front-facing camera. Pixel 6 Pro, as one would expect, bumps up the specs a notch, featuring a slightly larger screen at 6,7 inches, 12GB of RAM, 128/256/512GB onboard storage options, 50MP, 48MP, and 12MP cameras on the back with a single 12MP camera unit on the front. In terms of batteries, the Pixel 6 should have a 4,614mAh capacity, while the Pro variant should have a 5,000mAh battery.

With such an impressive spec sheet, both Pixel phones will impose to be an excellent choice for mobile gaming and gaming on the cloud in general. In addition, Pixel phones were always highly rated in terms of web content compatibility, so for anyone looking into playing browser-based casino games such as Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette, or slot machines, this platform will be a good choice. Modern casino web-based games build upon the proved and tested technology behind embedding games into websites such as HTML5 and often include sports betting sections on the site, expanding the entertainment portfolio significantly.

The Pixel 6 Series Release Date and MSRP

After plenty of suggestions from the Internet’s rumour mill, the release date is somewhere in the Fall of 2021, which is all we officially know so far. With that said, this means that Pixel 6 might arrive in September, which follows the usual Google trend of releasing their flagship Pixel phones by the end of the yea. Still, we might see a slightly postponed release with troubles related to chip manufacturing and the global shortage of components.

Price-wise, things are a bit more challenging to assess, as the Pixel series has moved between ranges a bit throughout its existence in the last couple of years. However, based on the Pixel 5 series MSRP pricing of US$699, it is possible and expected for the Pixel 6 smartphone to follow the same trend. On the other hand, Rick Osterloh, Google’s hardware executive, has mentioned several times that the Pixel 6 aims to be a mainstream premium product, which might indicate a slightly beefier price tag.

Hey, Google (Assistant) Now Allows You To Voice-Control Android Apps

Google today announced a notably deeper integration of its artificial intelligence mobile helper – Google Assistant – into the Android operating system, on the whole. To the effect that you are now able to voice-control countless Android apps, even if they haven’t been specifically optimized to be ordered around.

As a result, you may be surprised once you realize how much more convenient it is to control mundane tasks like texting, jotting down reminders, and cross-referencing dates.with your voice instead of just having your hands follow your inner voice, so to speak. Granted, voice-enabled user interfaces are a pretty ancient concept by now, technologically speaking.

But that doesn’t mean anyone got them right in the past. Well, OK, Samsung probably did, or at least came as close as Google did right now several years sooner. Believe it or not, we are talking about the infamous Bixby asisstant which is notorious for not being that great of an AI.

But it is actually an amazing conduit for your verbal commands, so long as those aren’t intended to achieve anything more complicated than pressing a few corners of your smartphone screen.

Either way, the equivalent to Bixby, but with an even greater, AI-infused potential to improve, is now gradually making its way to every contemporary Android smartphone, tablet, and even (Wear OS) smartwatch on the planet.

Nokia 5.4 coming to the U.S., pre-orders now live

Well, this didn’t take long: HMD Global officially confirmed that its value-first Nokia 5.4 mid-ranger is on its way to the U.S.

How far do $250 go in the 2021 smartphone market?

In fact, you can already pre-order the Nokia 5.4 from Amazon, priced at $249.99. You can choose between two color options – Dusk and Polar Night. Regardless of your preferred finish, it’s hard to imagine a more efficient way to spend $250 toward a smartphone in 2021. The Nokia 5.4 boasts a 6.39 HD+ LCD panel with a discreet punch-hole camera on the front and a monstrously versatile quad-camera setup on the back. The latter system is capable of putting out 48-megapixel images that should serve you well no matter the lighting conditions. Beneath this full-screen exterior beats the heart of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662, still one of the most popular mid-range chips on the market.

Between support for on-device neural processing, two-day battery life, a promise of three years’ worth of Android security upgrades, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of flash memory, and an extremely aggressive price tag, the Nokia 5.4 is legitimately threatening to top every smartphone value chart from now until summer. Finally, given how HMD’s devices have been running a near-stock version of Android since Microsoft offloaded Nokia Mobile half a decade ago, this smartphone might as well be a homage to the iconic Google Nexus range.

Motorola Edge Turns To Gamers In Surprising Marketing Shift

A Motorola smartphone not branded as a Moto device is a rare sight in this day and age. One that actually ends up releasing in the United States through the official channels is an even rarer breed. But, those to combined with public attempts at courting mobile gamers? What is going on this year?

Wait, don’t answer that, let us just focus on the claim at hand, which is that the Motorola Edge is a fantastic gaming smartphone well above any arbitrary baseline for such devices that most consumers could think of. It’s easy to dismiss this as just catch-all marketing, but of all the claims Motorola could have made about the Edge, it opted for a claim that this thing is “the perfect mobile gaming device.”

This, at the very least, constitutes a notable shift in the firm’s marketing strategy that has so far mostly been focused on playful designs and highlighting how much of a punch its devices pack for their comparatively low prices. It was only some three years back that the now-discontinued modular Moto Z devices were treated to a standalone gamepad holster, so perhaps Motorola is once again rediscovering its love of video games with the Moto Edge and this is a start of a larger trend.

Time will tell, as always.

Motorola Starts Rolling Out Camera 3.0 Android App With Massive Quality Improvements

Motorola Mobility today started rolling out the latest version of its Camera Android app developed for its portfolio of smartphones. Identified by version number 3.0, this release debuts a number of notable improvements, changes, and fixes that should deliver even greater value than the sum of their parts, so to speak, ultimately ennobling the entire user experience offered by contemporary Motorola and/or Moto handsets.

More specifically, we are looking at an update that optimizes the app’s interface for some of the smaller models from Motorola’s family, in addition to introducing several functional improvements which are largely automated in nature by virtue of the fact that they are powered by cutting-edge artificial intelligence algorithms.

Choice is still at the center of Motorola’s UI design philosophy, which is why even these smart components aren’t trying to think instead of you and you can expect the latest build of its Camera app to always offer straightforward avenues toward disabling any such features. Camera 3.0 should already be available for download from the Google Play Store in all of the United States.

In case you still haven’t received a notification asking you to install the new version, you can always try checking the app’s Play Store page manually, or reinstalling the thing altogether.

Microsoft Announces Surface Hub 2S, The Most Advanced Digital Whiteboard Yet

Microsoft today unveiled the new Surface Hub 2S, the successor to the award-winning first-generation product that promises to be the most advanced digital whiteboard ever created.

Designed to help educators and administrators enable collaborative working in their classrooms and conference rooms, the Surface Hub 2S is similar in appearance to its predecessor but offers even more customization options to users, starting with a new series of mounts developed by Steelcase, a company that’s kind of the resident expert for display arms of any sort, with Microsoft reaching out to it specifically in order to get these arms made.

The Surface Hub 2S offers a massive, 85-inch display area that you can use to collaborate with a large number of colleagues in real time, whether in terms of actual interaction or for the simple purpose of presenting data. It is also compatible with the latest Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise app suite from Microsoft, just make sure you have the latest OS update up and running.

Microsoft is accepting pre-orders for the Surface Hub 2S 85″ as of today. Only in the United States, mind you, though Canada shouldn’t have to wait for too long to join in on the digital whiteboarding fun. First orders in the U.S. are promised to begin arriving in January.

Stateside pricing starts at $8,999.99, so make sure to buy in bulk, duh.

Qualcomm Launches FastConnect In Pursuit Of Next-Gen Local Connectivity

Qualcomm today launched the Qulcomm FastConnect, a local connectivity system meant to improve the overall quality of such technologies across pretty much any and every segment of both consumer elecronics and enterprise-grade systems. The focal point of the solution is twofold, as Qualcomm FastConnect seeks to drive the adoption of both Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth audio connectivity.

In a way, it’s Qualcomm’s other bet on the future that runs alongside its 5G investments but isn’t directly related to it. More specifically, we are looking at the release of the FastConnect 6900 and FastConnect 6700 mobile platforms which are compatible with the latest internationally certified Wi-Fi specification, as well as the comparably latest Bluetooth standard – 5.2, to be exact.

The new tech should benefit everything from smartphones and wearables to Chromebooks and Arm-based Windows laptops, among other types of consumer electronics. Audiophiles will also want to make note of Qualcomm FastConnect due to its support for lossless, low-latency audio transmissions, immersive directional signal playback conducive to in-ear surround experiences, and improved range and consistency.

Both systems will be integral parts of most, if not all, future Snapdragon chips from Qualcomm. Those would be the thingies powering our smartphones, smartwatches, and even laptops, as of the last several years.

Galaxy S21 series sales go live in the U.S.

The Galaxy S21 series is available for purchase as of today, so consumers can finally get some hands-on time with Samsung’s latest 5G flagships.

What’s the catch with that big price drop?

The range encompasses the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. It’s worth mentioning that the ultimate model from the series is also the first Samsung smartphone with S Pen support that isn’t part of the Galaxy Note line. With that said, the new stylus will be sold separately from the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Either way, we’re looking at solid smartphones with impressive, versatile cameras, promising battery life of over a day for typical use, and powerful internals. Including the Snapdragon 888 (expect a day of use plus an effective fast-charging and wireless charging options), and powerful internals, including the latest Snapdragon 888 chip from Qualcomm, the fast processor.

All three devices offer AMOLED displays (from 6.2- to 6.8-inch panels) with adaptive refresh rates going up to 120Hz. While that came at the cost of a minor resolution downgrade (to FHD+) on the more affordable models, the Galaxy S21 Ultra one-ups its direct predecessor by combining this silky smooth ratio with a typical flagship resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels. All three devices start at a whopping $200 less than their immediate predecessors from the Galaxy S20 family – $799, $999, and $1,199. Besides the aforementioned resolution differences, that’s also due to their lack of microSD card support. Not to mention that only the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with truly next-gen camera hardware, whereas the other two are the same as their last year’s equivalents. Last but not least, Samsung achieved additional savings by deciding not to bundle the new devices with a charging adapter or a pair of complimentary headphones. The move mimics the changes Apple made to the iPhone range last year.

Logitech Releases Circle View Security Camera Wtih Apple HomeKit Support

Logitech’s newest smart security camerawith Apple HomeKit integration, called the Circle View, is now available for purchase in the United States.

The gadget, priced at $159.99, will be distributed by Apple itself, in addition to being sold by Logitech, the company disclosed. With that said, you probably shouldn’t expect to see it in any real-world Apple Stores in the near future given how it was just last month that the Cupertino company started pulling any and every third-party product from its physical shelves in an apparent effort to start pushing its own products even more aggressively.

Regardless, the Circle View promises a reliable home security solution with intelligent motion capture, a 1080p video feed covering a 180-degree field of view, a smartphone companion app, and night vision capabilities in a 15-feet radius enabled by its built-in infrared laser. As Apple HomeKit tech is part of the package, you can pair the gadget with your existing i-devices in a matter of seconds and save some or all of its security footage directly to iCloud. The latter feature exists in place of any standalone storage service your typical smart home camera manufacturer would try to upsell you on these days.

Yet just by buying the Circle View, you are also paying for a guarantee that your last 10 days’ worth of security footage will always be available for review.

MSI Launches Artymis, World’s First 1000R Curved Monitor

Computer hardware and accessory maker Micro-Star International today announced its newest monitor, which happens to be debuting as part of an entirely fresh brand, as well.

We are talking about the MSI Artymis series, which is how the company is calling another major innovation orchestrated by its talented product design and logistics teams. Namely, the MSI Artymis marks the debut of the first 1000R curved monitors ever created.

Which is a remarkable achievement that we would have expected to end up in the trophy cabinet of some much larger company with more widespread display industry dominance. We won’t name any names, but the one that comes to mind as a much more obvious choice starts with an S and ends with amsung.

Anyway, it is MSI that is now making history with a seminal 1000R monitor instead. For those not in the know, the said designation refers to the curvature ratio of the display. In this instance, it describes a panel that would form a circle with a 1,000mm (1 meter) radius if its sides just kept expanding until meeting one another. So, one way to look at the MSI Artymis is as a beginning of a sizable sphere with a 2-meter diameter.

Other key features of this device include intelligent brightness management, built-in speakers with a microphone array capable of noise cancellation, display-level customization of in-game crosshairs (or just the ability to add a reticule to game that don’t have one), and something called Night Vision AI which promises to help you spot enemies at night.

No, not the neighbors, this is still just a gaming gimmick – one that will definitely ensure the MSI Artymis will be banned from coming into 15 feet of any eSports competition, at that. Speaking of a lack of arrivals, MSI has yet to even mention any pricing and availability info concerning this monitor.

DMG Launches a New Travel Site, SummerHeadlines.com

In addition to its collection of gaming and technology websites, Damage Media Group is now adding a travel and tourism site to its resume. SummerHeadlines.com is expected to launch this summer, just in time for the 2022 tourist season. The site will inform readers about the attractions, gastronomy, and history of ten diverse vacation destinations in Europe, as well as provide them with itineraries and suggestions for road trips.

The Website

SummerHeadlines.com will operate on the latest version of WordPress, which provides the site with Google-friendly coding that makes the site render beautifully across all devices. It will use a modified Soledad Magazine theme, giving it a polished, web magazine feel, and it will retain high speeds even under heavy traffic loads due to its A2 hosting.

The Future of Travel

The future of travel looks bright in 2022. Experts agree that this summer will see a huge increase in tourism as a result of restrictions being lifted across the globe. Most countries in Europe are now relaxing their entry requirements, making it easier than ever for fully-vaccinated travelers to go on both domestic and international holidays.

SummerHeadlines.com Content

The travel site will focus on ten of the most-visited countries in Europe, and will provide readers with information about entry requirements, tips for what to do and where to go, and a look at the best time to visit. Each country will have its own pillar article, with several smaller articles branching off to describe specific cities within that country. The guide to Cyprus, for instance, describes the local museums, monasteries, and national parks one can visit, as well as the country’s world-famous wine, Commandaria.

Six countries have been profiled on SummerHeadlines.com so far, as the site is still under construction. The full launch of the project is set for summer 2023. For the latest news, you can follow DMG on their Linkedin page.

Alcove Family VR Corner Coming To Oculus Quest

An interactive family corner called Alcove is on its way to virtual reality environments by the way of an Oculus Quest port. Its developers describe it as a unique virtual environment for connecting with people you care about the most.

It is filled with miniature games, interactive trivia assignments, reactive art, and all other manners of curious content that will hopefully keep you and your loved ones entertained for hours on end, or as much as desired.

If that sounds familiar, it is because Alcove already had its debut inside Facebook’s VR ecosystem with the app’s arrival to the Oculus Go. As for the Oculus Quest, the more serious VR headset from Oculus will be getting its own version of Alcove on August 20th.

As was the case with the Oculus Go original the Oculus Quest version of Alcove will be entirely free to download and peruse at your own discretion. The port will include 360-degree city tours, air balloon rides, ocean dives, and all of the other unique features that made the original Alcove such a popular VR app on the Oculus Go.

There is currently no information on whether developers intend to attempt monetizing the app’s growing user base in the future.

Huawei Mate 40 Announced, But With Import Requirements Instead Of Google

The Mate 40 family, Huawei’s newest range of Android flagships, has been officially announced at an online event earlier today. As expected, the lineup that consists of the regular Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro is the first such high-end mobile offering from Huawei that lacks Google Mobile Services due to the economic sanctions the U.S. government previously imposed on the Chinese company.

In their place, Huawei developed its own solutions, including the App Gallery, an alternative to the Google Play Store, pretty much the default way of obtaining apps on Android smartphones, tablets, TVs, and other devices. The new devices offer support for the fifth generation of mobile networks, including both mmWave and low-band 5G. Furthermore, they’re powered by the Kirin 9000, the fastest mobile chip ever produced by Huawei subsidiary HiSilicon.

Both smartphones are planned to begin retailing by the end of the month, but unsurprisingly, they won’t be officially coming to the United States. Importing them from Europe shouldn’t be a costly affair, however, but whether you can make do with an Android experience devoid of any and all things Google is another matter entirely.

For reference, Huawei’s next flagships might not even run Android but an entirely new operating system called HarmonyOS that the firm is still developing.

Samsung vows to innovate toward a sustainable future

Samsung this week highlighted its latest sustainability efforts, vowing to innovate its way toward a greener future for all.

How can a tech company provide a greener future?

Samsung showcased yesterday online a whole package of steps it’s taking to make sure that it stays on the right side when it comes to minimizing its ecological impact. The tech giant explained that it’s investing in the development of green technologies, applying circular economy principles, and helping its consumers become more socially conscious. One of the ways to achieve that is through Generation 17. It’s Samsung’s and United Nation Development Programme’s initiative that shares stories of young leaders trying to save the planet and provides them with needed mentorships, networks, and technology. Galaxy Upcycling program, on the other hand, transforms smartphones into new and convenient devices.

There are also innovations when it comes to TV. In 2021, every Samsung QLED 4K and 8K TV will be provided with a Solar Cell Remote Control that can be charged even with the everyday light inside your home. And in case you’re more interested in housekeeping solutions, Samsung’s also including greener innovations in the AI technology in that field. Washing machines will be eco optimized in every possible way, whilst reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

YouTube Premium Lite – Everything You Need to Know

YouTube Premium has been around for a while now, nearly seven years. This unique subscription model is for purchase to make your YouTube video content consumption much better, as it rids the user from ads. In addition to removing ads, the YouTube application on smartphones enables background playback, which means one can listen to some podcasts or music hosted using YouTube itself even when the application gets minimized. Furthermore, the user can also download content off YouTube for offline viewing later within the application with the Premium subscription. At the moment of writing, the regular YouTube Premium subscription goes for US$11.99 monthly.

Enter YouTube Premium Lite

It is hard to disagree that the US$11.99 premium for ad-free YouTube videos seems like a bit of a stretch, but it looks like a more affordable option is also in the workings. The Premium Lite subscription plan is currently being tested in some regions of Europe (Nordic lands and Benelux) to note how the market responds. The new subscription plan gets offered for $US6.99 per month, and it only provides ad-free YouTube videos with no other regular Premium features.

While everyone waits for the market feedback and whether or not Premium Lite becomes a permanent subscription model, it is essential to note that unmonetized channels will still work typically. This practice gets followed by online gaming industries such as casino and sportsbooks websites with dedicated YouTube channels used for game reviews and new content to their game portfolios. In that sense, casino websites use their official media to get the latest news, trailers, and anything else that might interest users who haven’t played a game like Roulette or Blackjack online. The best thing about this is that no premium subscription is needed to enjoy this content without ads.

There Might Be Multiple YouTube Premium Variants

The currently tested Premium Lite is in no way a completed, public version. The variant described above acts as a testing ground for YouTube to push the limits and market demands. Over time, we expect YouTube to carry multiple subscription plans for their users, which could impact YouTube’s ad monetization policies for creators, for better or worse. The paid subscriptions impact the end user’s experience, and there is a strong demand for such features, so it is all about determining the correct price ranges. For example, Netflix has three available subscription models, with differentiating features being the resolution of the movies and shows and the number of users who can simultaneously get logged in watching content. An excellent example of a simple but good enough model accepted well in the market.

It is more probable to see modified family subscriptions for YouTube Premium, as this makes more sense for shared YouTube accounts or accounts owned by people living in the same household. In addition, judging by the feedback YouTube Premium has received during its existence so far, we believe there is a high demand for YouTube without ads. In contrast, the rest of the features included in the Premium subscription might cater to a more delicate customer base.

NVIDIA Broadcast App Launches To Enhance Your Gaming Streams

NVIDIA Broadcast is the name of a new app from the famous GPU manufacturer that promises to enhance gaming streams in a wide variety of scenarios. The app is build on the NVIDIA Encoder (NVENC) standard that the company first introduced in late 2018 with the GeForce RTX 20 series.

That also happens to be the hardware baseline for taking advantage of the new tech, which is, of course, also supported by the newly launched GeForce RTX 30 lineup of GPUs. The app can now be downloaded free of charge in the United States and is presently only available for Windows, the number one choice for gamers anyway.

After getting it up and running, you will be able to enhance your webcam and microphone feeds with NVIDIA’s proprietary AI that will filter out audio and image noise, introduce virtual backgrounds, and even frame and reframe your video feed, as instructed and/or needed.

Which is quite a decent feature list for something being given out for free, though NVIDIA is definitely playing the long game here and wants the Broadcast app to be just another selling point of its ultra-premium PC graphics cards.

Naturally, for best results, you’re advised to still invest some effort into a decent streaming setup.

Functional GoPro finds its way home after 5 years underwater

After five years of sitting at the bottom of the ocean, one fortunate GoPro stranded in Cape Town – functional enough to find its way home.

How to turn a rusty camera with little resale value into a free boat ride?

When 10-year-old Kaylem Conradie and James Said stumbled upon an initially unrecognizable camera in the sea in the Hout Bay in Cape Town, on 2nd February, they had no idea that it would start off quite an adventure. They thought it was a toy at first, but once they removed the shells and shrimps that domesticated on the item, they found out it was a GoPro camera. James’s mom, Bianca Said, took the camera home because the boys were eager to return it to the owner. Although they couldn’t turn on the camera, the memory card was intact, showing a picture of a woman posing with a surfboard. After posting that woman’s photo on the local Facebook group, Hout Bay Organised, a woman’s son reached out to Bianca within five minutes. As it turns out, his mom and brother lost the camera out in the ocean in 2016. And that was actually in the footage of the camera.

The camera sank down to the bottom of the ocean after the incident, the footage showed. It was a bit rusty, but still working perfectly after the battery was recharged. The boys who found it were very pleased that their treasure hunt made someone happy. As a reward for reuniting her with the long-lost camera over the following weekend, the owner treated the boys and their sisters to a free boat ride.

Nokia Earns $14 Million For Bringing LTE To The Moon

Finnish telecom manufacturer and service provider Nokia Corp. netted a cool $14.1 million from NASA. And in this instance, that “cool” label applies tenfold, becaus the project in question was about bringing 4G LTE to the Moon, of all places.

Not bad for some chump change, right?

At least the marketing value Nokia is deriving from this initiative will probably at the very least match, if not easily surpass that service fee NASA agreed to foot. The endeavor is being handled by Nokia’s U.S. arm, itself a member of the Artemis program which NASA previously introduced with the goal of achieving humanity’s triumphant return to the moon by 2024. In addition to sending the first woman astronaut to Earth’s largest satellite.

The Artemis program is what prompted the need for launching an LTE network on the moon happened in the first place. Seeing how the first 21st century moon landing humanity undertakes will surely have to be live-streamed in high definition. Which is where Nokia’s 4G network equipment and expertise come into play. The current plan is to begin a remote installation with a custom-built lunar hopper in about two years from now.

The late 2022 window will depend not just on Nokia’s prep work, but also on Intuitive Machines’ ability to hit their deadlines , as that is the company NASA contracted to manufacture the aforementioned spacecraft.

ASUS Sky Selection 2 is a gaming laptop wielding the power of anime

While we rarely cover devices that aren’t likely to retail in the U.S., the power of anime compels us to let you know about the ASUS Sky Selection 2. Namely, this gaming laptop is now a thing, in all its unapologetically flashy glory.

Could this quirky design hide a serious gaming powerhouse?

In all seriousness, it doesn’t appear the anime connection goes any deeper than ASUS opting for an in-your-face marketing campaign. That bold approach is likely to pay off, given how the ASUS Sky Selection 2 wields plenty of stopping power on its own. Namely, the neon-blue finish makes it difficult for anyone who catches so much as a glimpse of it not to stop and take a genuine look at what this gaming-oriented notebook has to offer.

Do not let the eccentric design fool you, however – the ASUS Sky Selection 2 is a true gaming powerhouse. From its 15.6-inch FHD display and its 240Hz refresh rate, 64GB of 3,200Mhz DDR4 RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD, to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU and AMD Ryzen R7-5800H CPU, this thing is as futureproof as they come. The ASUS Sky Selection 2 is currently available for pre-orders in China at the equivalent of over $1,400. While we’re unlikely to ever see it hit stateside retail, every true hardware connoisseur can always resort to importing.

Huawei looking to offload flagship smartphone lines: report

Huawei purportedly decided to cut its losses in the high-end smartphone sphere, at least for the foreseeable future. To that end, the Chinese company reportedly started negotiating a sale of its two largest Android flagship lines – the Mate and P families.

Will Huawei ever return to making Android flagships?

The final decision on the matter hasn’t been set in stone just yet, but insiders close to Huawei claim the real-world situation is pretty straightforward, implying that the company will almost certainly greenlight such a divestment. Huawei’s exit from the premium smartphone market has been the subject of many rumors since the latest round of the U.S. Commerce Department’s crippling sanctions preventing the company from licensing crucial technologies like an up-to-date Android OS version with Google Mobile Services.

So, whether Huawei ever returns to designing, making, and selling cutting-edge smartphones at extremely aggressive price points primarily depends on how soon could the company free itself from the Commerce Department’s deterrents. While the Trump administration that started causing everyday supply problems for Huawei has been voted out of office, the newly inaugurated cabinet led by Joe Biden doesn’t appear to be in a hurry to let Huawei get back to pressuring American tech pioneers. As that’s pretty much what it’s been doing prior to having most of its major suppliers blocked from doing business with it, one after the other.

Lenovo Unveils X1 Nano With Pricing Info, Record-Small Footprint, and U.S. Release Date

Lenovo has once again succeeded in reducing the physical footprint of its already minuscule ThinkPad ultrabooks, as underlined by the Chinese firm’s announcement of the new ThinkPad X1 Nano which happened early in the afternoon. Behind that simple name is an impressively compact device weighing a record-low 1.99 pounds, which comes down to some 907g.

Despite the unmatched portability, the ThinkPad X1 Nano still manages to pack quite a punch processing-wise, as Lenovo turned to Intel’s Evo platform and its 11th-generation Intel Core notebook processors. Coupled with a familiar 13-inch display format (with 2K, i.e. 1440p resolution support in a 16:10 aspect ratio), 3D sound support, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano promises over 17 hours of standalone operation on a single battery charge, which is an amazing figure currently only rivaled by Dell’s 2020 refresh of its iconic XPS 17 notebook.

Lenovo is accepting pre-orders for the ThinkPad X1 Nano in the United States starting from today, with prices starting at $1,399. The company will begin shipping first units to early adopters early into the final quarter of the year, which could very likely mean by the end of the following week.

Microsoft Rolling Out Eye Contact, An AI-Powered Teleconferencing Interest Feigner

Microsoft today began rolling out Eye Contact, a teleconferencing interest feigner powered by artificial intelligence that comes in the form of an app, as all things of value do these days. This solution will modify your feed in a way that makes your boss think you’re really into this quarterly report on churn rates across secondary B2B services.

It uses machine learning models trained by Microsoft to do so, and that’s not even the only thing that makes Eye Contact worthy of the cutting-edge tech label. Unfortunately, its other stake to that title is also what makes its availability extremely limited for the time being.

Because Eye Contact has been made specifically for the SQ1, a Microsoft-made custom chipset designed for on-device machine learning applications that shipped inside the Surface Pro X which released in the U.S. last year. And only the Surface Pro X, which is why no other device can currently take advantage of this insane-looking technology, bad pun very much intended.

With that said, Microsoft expects portions of the experience will eventually be ready to be implemented into other, more affordable members of the Surface family. Though it isn’t ready to predict whether that includes some of the existing devices or only those planned to be released in the future.

Disney Picks Taika Waititi To Direct Next Star Wars Feature

Iconic filmmaker from New Zealand, Taika Waititi, was picked by Disney as the director of the next Star Wars feature film. The appointment in question was announced in an official press release this afternoon and while it was not exactly widely expected, the initial reactions among both fans and media alike appear to be overwhelmingly positive.

That likely has at least something to do with the fact that Mr. Waititi is a Hollywood darling by every definition of that term. Though he has not been enjoying that status for particularly long. If anything, it was not until his latest project, a bizarre comedy-drama hybrid set in Nazi Germany – JoJo Rabbit – that Mr. Waititi cemented his status of a cult director.

The said movie released in theaters last year, proceeding to win an Academy Award for the Best Adapted Screenplay and its BAFTA equivalent, in addition to bagging a Best Picture Oscar nomination. Prior to that unusual film that he directed, produced, and adapted in writing, Mr. Waititi directed a decently-received Thor: Ragnarok which had its theatrical debut back in 2017.

His newly confirmed Star Wars project is still without an official release date, though the timing of this announcement seems to point toward a late 2023 release at the earliest.

Watch out for the AMD’s RX 6700 XT in March

AMD’s graphics card Radeon RX 6700 XT, which could be the next Big Navi, is expected to launch in March.

What can we look forward to?

The news spread fast over the internet as the inside unnamed source yesterday confirmed that AMD is launching a new graphics card, Radeon RX 670 XT, on March 18th. The new card is going to be based on a NAVI 22 XL GPU. It will have 12 GB video memory and a 192-bit memory bus. At the moment, the 128-bit memory bus is standard, so RX 6700 XT will be able to exchange data faster with the CPU and other internal components. Radeon RX 6700 XT will supposedly be available in MBA and Custom versions, and it’s not yet sure whether a non-XT model will be released as well.

This card aims to compete with NVIDIA’s mid-range GPUs, or GeForce RTX 3070, to be more precise, which currently holds the place as the best buy in its class of around $500 range price. GeForce RTX 3070 launched at the end of October last year, and it’s the third most powerful GeForce 30-series gaming graphics card based on the Ampere architecture. Since it features 5888 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 memory, it’s considered quite a powerful gaming graphics card, and it offers great support for a high-resolution monitor or VR headset.

PrinterHeadlines.com Is The New Home For  InkEvolved

InkEvolved, one of the first versatile Helpdesks dedicated to providing printer users with troubleshooting solutions, has decided to undergo a rebranding. From Canon to Epson, some of the biggest brands in the printer community have their section on the InkEvolved website. Unlike other sites that site entirely to one name brand, this one has several of them.

Having encountered our fair share of printer problems back in the day, we started toying with the idea of starting our very own printing helpdesk early in our college years.” – The InkEvolved Team

Its been three years since they launched their site, and now that their anniversary is coming up in July, it is time to tell the world about the significant changes that will be coming in the next few months. The most notable difference for their visitors is that InkEvolved is no longer the site’s official name. Now PrinterHeadlines will be the new home for InkEvolved.

Doubling Up The Team

The new home is also welcoming four new members who will write up more troubleshooting articles about four new printers that will also be joining the community. The team had four specialists covering Epson, HP, Brother, and Canon printers, but from now on, Lexmark, Konica, Dymo, and Ricoh find themselves on that list too. For the future, they are also looking into adding more subjects related to 3D printers as well.

Fusing new troubleshooting content and a remodelled platform means that the overall user experience will ultimately reach a higher level. The first steps they have taken for the remodelling are moving from the unmanaged WordPress platform and trying out the managed solution from Kinsta. After that, the team decided to use the tagDiv platform due to its exemplary performance and features.

Bringing The Printer Community Together

The overall rebranding objective is to bring the printer community closer together in troubleshooting and the general aspect of printing. Two of the main ways they will do this is by adding more categories to the PrinterHeadlines page. This change will direct visitors to the page for troubleshooting advice and other information that could be useful, such as reviews, news, best buys, manuals, and more.

Another way they hope to unite the printing community is by keeping up with their social media pages. Till now, their Facebook hasnt been too active and informative for users, so they promised to take matters into their own hands and promised to dedicate some time and effort into this area PrinterHeadlines. VisitPrinterHeadlinesfor all the latest news in the printer world.

Dell Launches 2020 XPS Ultrabooks, U.S. Pricing Confirmed

Personal computer giant Dell today presented the sequels to perhaps its most popoular and definitely most critically acclaimed series of consumer hardware. That would be the XPS family of bezel-less Windows ultrabooks which has been successfully pairing top hardware with a graceful full-screen aesthetic for over half a decade, at this point.

The latest entries to the range, the XPS 15 and XPS 17, are largely more of the same from the standpoint of technology, with their most notable improvement coming in the form of quite a few major battery tech innovations. To be more exact, even the larger, 17-inch variant of Dell’s flagship ultrabook promises up to 19 hours of battery life in practical scenarios, which is pretty much unheard of in the history of this form factor, even if we include Apple’s macOS machines, including the latest generation running its own silicon that’s literally optimized to a transistor. So, be able to even come close to the 19-hour mark with a third-party OS and a bunch of external hardware is a historic achievement in every sense of that word.

Other than that, expect the new Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17 to be offered along with the very best of what the PC component manufacturers can currently offer. Meaning you should also be prepared to break the bank for one of these incredibly autonomous babies as the smaller notebook has just been confirmed to start at $1,299 in the U.S. The XPS 17, on the other hand, will have an introductory price of $1,499, Dell said in a prepared statement. The new series still hasn’t been scheduled for a specific release date but American consumers can rest assured that they’ll be able to buy every possible variation of these flagship ultrabooks by early summer.

MSI B560, H510 redefine budget gaming motherboards

MSI seems ready to rethink budget gaming motherboards with the B560 and H510, a pair of mobos that start at just $89.

How far can two figures go in the world of motherboards?

The B560 and H510 were unveiled in a pretty casual manner during the latest episode of the MSI Insider Show. You can watch the whole YouTube broadcast below, but the main takeaway is that MSI is seriously pushing the envelope for what constitutes a budget gaming PC motherboard. Namely, the B560 and H510 will start at $99 and $89, respectively. As per usual, MSI has a handful of designs based on both of these reference boards in the works. And sitting on the opposite end of the price spectrum is the MPG B560I Gaming Edge WiFi, which stands to retail at $159. As that mouthful of a name suggests, this particular implementation offers integrated Wi-Fi capabilities. And it’s far from the only one to do so.

The MSI H510 and B560 have both been designed for Intel’s incoming 11th-Generation processors from the so-called Rocket Lake-S family. MSI will be specifically targeting small form factors with many individual models. But if its aggressive pricing is still not to one’s liking, all Rocket Lake-S processors will also be compatible with MSI 400-series motherboards. As for the new products, the MSI B560 and H510 will become available for purchase across the U.S. in the coming weeks.

AMD Confirms Blockbuster Rival Acquisition Worth $35 Billion

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. today announced it has agreed preliminary takeover terms with the management of Xilinx, a San Jose-based technology company and a household name in the field of dynamic processing platforms.

The kind that AMD itself has been pursuing as part of its never-ending growth ambitions in recent years. By acquiring its rival of 36 years, AMD is hoping to double down on its chipmaking efforts in a number of sprawling markets such as connected vehicles, embedded computers, and aerospace processing, according to a prepared statement from the company.

The deal can easily be interpreted as a response to NVIDIA’s $40 billion acquisition of silicon architecture veterans at ARM which AMD’s fiercest rival proposed back in September. With that said, both conglomerates have a long road toward regulatory approvals ahead of them. AMD appears to have been more aggressive among the two in terms of M&A structuring, having confirmed the Xilinx acquisition would be an all-stock deal.

Not only does that facilitate compensation but even improves the companies’ odds of having the deal greenlit by U.S. regulators, according to Washington’s track record of antitrust reviews. A combined entity composed of AMD and Xilinx will number in excess of 13,000 employees acroos the world, the two companies estimated.

Canon EOS R5 Finally Back In Stock Across The U.S.

The Canon EOS R5 was always destined to be a highly-sought camera, what with it being the Japanese juggernaut’s first full-fledged mirrorless body with some utterly monstrous specs, but the unique circumstances saturating the entirety of this year amplified this effect by a pretty massive factor.

But no more. Because today, over four months since the technically official U.S. release of the Canon EOS R5, you might actually and finally be able to find one that you can buy, regardless of the exact part of the country in which you are located. Even the official Canon USA website now has the EOS R5 listed as in stock and widely available, which is a label we haven’t seen once since the flagship camera’s launch event in early July.

Over the last four months, pretty much all of Canon’s stateside stores and most outlets from its distributors and resellers had the EOS R5 listed as “out of stock.” Not even reports of a faulty batch with overheating issues did anything to curb the enthusiasm for the camera among American pro photographers.

Even Amazon is now offering standard two-day shipping via Prime,, so the only thing left to do is come up with $3,899, which is how much a lens-less body of this historic camera is going to cost you. But hey – think of all that 8K footage you’re going to shoot!

Drone Maker DJI Joins Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team In Race To Storytelling Innovation

Chinese drone company and one of the global leaders in its field, DJI, is joining forces with Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E team in order to tread some new storytelling ground, the company announced in a press release publicized earlier today.

And no, this is an entirely different Formula from F1, you won’t see Lewis Hamilton shilling for any particular drone company for the time being. What you will see, however, is some sweet original content that DJI promised will follow as a result of this unique collaboration. Well, not that unique, mind you, as the Mercedes-Benz sports teams have been rather busy this year.

The aforementioned Formula 1 team actually already partnered with both NVIDIA and AMD over the course of this year, which is quite an achievement in an off itself. Though the latter collab is a pretty vanilla sponsorship, so there’s that. As for this DJI partnership, expect some cool aerial footage from the upcoming ABB FIA Formula E races and… that is pretty much it, but it’s not like fans of the sport need an excuse to look at pretty pictures, especially those that move.

Needless to say, DJI will certainly be using this opportunity to promote its aircraft, i.e. its motorsports photography potential.

Alleged Intel Core i9-11900K impresses in latest leak

According to a newly emerged benchmark listing purportedly detailing the Core i9-11900K, Intel’s 11th-gen flagship CPU is going to be a sight to behold.

How will the Core i9-11900K fare against AMD’s latest flagship?

And not least because of the 5.3GHz boost speed that the newly sighted performance sheet suggests. The tested configuration found in the database of benchmarking tool Geekbench 5 used the Z490 Aorus Master motherboard from Gigabyte. This setup appears to have scored 10,934 points in the multi-core test while managing a 1,892 single-core rating. Needless to say, spoofing benchmarks is far from impossible, so take this leak with a proverbial grain of salt. And even if these impressive results are legitimate, synthetic benchmark ratings aren’t necessarily indicative of real-world performance.

With that said, these figures are in line with some previous Core i9-11900K leaks, all of which point to massive generational gains in terms of single-core performance. Going off the latest listing, Intel’s Rocket Lake flagship will be approximately one-third more efficient than its Comet Lake predecessor. An improvement of this magnitude is precisely what Intel needs to respond to AMD’s growingly aggressive innovations in the field. In fact, the newly leaked Core i9-11900K configuration edges out the Ryzen 5800X by roughly 13% and 5% in single- and multi-core performance, respectively.

HTC, Gigabyte Partner For A Rarely Seen AORUS Laptop VR Bundle

Taiwanese computer hardware veterans HTC and Gigabyte teamed up for something you don’t see everday: a gaming laptop VR bundled complete with a full-featured HDMI rig.

The latter, of course, comes in the form of the HTC Vive Cosmos or the Vive Cosmos Elite, depending on the exact package, though both combinations have today been introduced as part of the so-called Cosmos Series x AORUS 15G package.

The titular AORUS 15G is Gigabyte’s latest Windows gaming notebook which leaves very little to be desired no matter where you look. The kicker, naturally, is the price of this high-end tie-up. As neither of these two brands parts with their flagship offerings that easily. And the sole fact they have now temporarily joined forces hardly means either is eager to throw away the idea of healthy profit margins, aka the number one motivator for being in the highly competitive gaming PC market in the first place.

Especially when it comes to laptops, and even then, especially when you are looking for VR-optimized portable machines. As even today’s most powerful notebeooks are hardly made with VR in mind, but this bundle promises to change your mind about the portability of such room-scale, digitally surreal entertainment.

Oh, so long as you can afford the $2,249/$2,449 price tags attached to the two AORUS 15G packages containing the Vive Cosmos and Vive Cosmos Elite, respectively.

Adult Swim Finally Picks Return Date For ‘Rick and Morty’ S4

Six weeks after announcing an indefinite delay of the second half of “Rick and Morty” Season 4, American cable giant Adult Swim at last followed up on that disappointing decision with something the fans of the show will actually want to hear. That would, of course, be the date on which their favorite show will finally return to the television screens.

That’s the best piece of today’s news, whereas a slightly less stellar part of the announcement is that the wait for Rick and Morty to return to Adult Swim is still going to be over a month long. More specifically, its home network announced that the rest of the current season will begin airing on May the 4th (be with you). Which happens to be this year’s Star Wars day, as well. As a reminder, the series was postponed back in February after hitting its exact halfway mark.

The rest of the ordered batch now confirmed to be returning early next month therefore contains another five episodes. As if it wasn’t toying with the show’s fans’ emotions enough, Adult Swim decided to announce this news as part of its April’s Fools shenanigans, leaving many to wonder whether the aforementioned date was legitimate.

Qualcomm Enters Always-Online Chromebook Segment With Acer Spin 513

The newly publicized release of the Acer Spin 513 is notable not only for its obvious implication about how the Taiwanese elecronics maker will continue to invest in the Chrome OS segment moving forward. Besides that, it also marks the debut of the world’s first always-online Chromebook, which is how Qualcomm is eager to refer to this device.

That promise is deeply rooted in the Acer Spin 513’s support for 4G LTE connectivity. This feature is, naturally, enabled by the notebook’s system-on-chip, the Snapdragon 7c platform from Qualcomm. In effect, this makes the Acer Spin 513 as wireless as any modern smartphone. And having a consistent connection to the Internet is beneficial to staying productive on the go, which is the root of Qualcomm and Acer’s marketing pitch for the Spin 513.

The same can be said about its battery life as the Chromebook in question can remain autonomous for up to 14 hours on a single charge, a figure that beats the vast majority of other ultrabooks on the market, whether they are running Chrome OS or any other operating system.

An enterprise-focused edition of the said notebook is also available for pre-orders in the U.S. as of today.

Disney Picks Up Jackson’s Much-Awaited Beatles Documentary

The Walt Disney Studios managed to secure full distribution rights to Peter Jackson’s long-anticipated Beatles documentary, the American company said in a press release published this morning. Titled “The Beatles: Get Back,” the film will attempt to briefly summarize the entire history of the legendary rock ‘n roll band, including the recording of their seminal studio album Let It Be, as well as their very final live concert ever; the infamous impromptu performance at the rooftops of the Apple Corps HQ in London which took place on the 30th of January, 1969.

As for how succinct of an overview we can expect, Disney disclosed that the final cut of the documentary runs approximately 80 minutes. More than half of the film’s duration – 44 minutes – are dedicated to the said rooftop concert that was conceived and executed in just a few days’ time with zero public announcements. The iconic set opens with two takes of Get Back, goes over a few of the bands established hits such as I’ve Got A Feeling and Don’t Let Me Down, and concludes with a yet another Get Back performance.

Disney will be releasing Jackson’s homage to the Beatles in the United States, as well as Canada, on the 4th of September.
